Mastercard Birthday Party

Balloons: not much

Ariel Cake: a little more

Pizza, drinks, and tokens at Chuck E. Cheese: a crapload

Not having 16 kids and 19 adults at my apartment for the birthday party: PRICELESS

All in all, the party was a lot of fun. We only had one major snafu. I told everyone it was time for cake, and couldn't find the candles. So, while Justin went to Target, there were 8 girls sitting around the cake, drooling. Each took a turn dipping their grubby, germ ridden fingers in the icing.

And, then came present time. At one point, the girls knocked me down, trying to help open the gifts. I would rather be trying to protect a dead zebra from a pack of hyenas, than be in the middle of preschoolers trying to get to presents.

It looks like we robbed a Disney store and focused on all of the princess stuff. Maddie has already asked about next year. Justin wants to rent a tarp, spray it with water, and let the kids ice skate, for her next party.

After Friday night, it doesn't sound like such a bad idea.

Congrats on throwing the preschool birthday party of the year! I'm so glad for you that it's done. Now only 364 more days to plan next year's... I'm liking the frozen tarp idea... *grin*

I'm glad Chuck-E-Cheese went well.

My experience during present time last week was similar to yours. One of the over eager preschoolers accused me of pinching her when I put my hand on her shoulder and asked her to sit down so we could take pictures of the gift opening. I SO needed a drink after that was over.

Preschooler birthday parties with way too many kids are priceless. Excited, happy little kids are so precious.

Oh, I just read your comment on my blog. I think we're married to the same man. How is that possible?

Whew! Deep breath! Congrats on pulling it off! Pack of hyenas LOL! That is the PERFECT analogy.

Yeah, those things get pricey! But not having a bunch of people at your house is definitely, often, mostly worth it.

Love the ice skating idea. Sounds like although there were some crazy moments, you survived! I'm sure Maddie had a blast! Hope you took some pictures in the midst of the chaos.

Time for a margarita? ;o)
